Job Description:
About the Role & Company
We are looking for a skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our team in supporting large-scale infrastructure projects across the country. In this role, you will be the critical link between our field operations and the final client deliverables, handling the daily processing, administration, and coordination of incoming survey data. This is a highly technical, office-based position where your sharp eye for detail ensures our project teams receive pristine, accurate data frameworks, keeping our operations moving forward efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review incoming daily field data to verify its accuracy, completeness, and strict compliance with our project specifications and quality control standards.
· Catch and document any field data inconsistencies or omissions right away, collaborating directly with the Project Manager, Field Supervisor, and Survey Crew Chiefs for a quick resolution.
· Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to import field codes, manage survey points, develop accurate surface models, and draft final project deliverables.
· Assist with data processing for route surveys, boundary analysis, and construction layouts, while helping prepare survey plats, alignment drawings, and right-of-way legal descriptions.
· Support the production team by handling in-depth deed research, gathering record maps, and executing deed plotting to establish baseline project boundaries.
· Keep our digital house in order by organizing and maintaining clean, secure, and logical file structures for all incoming field data, active drawings, and final archives.
· Maintain open, consistent communication with both the office and field teams to ensure we hit all client-specific demands, project timelines, and technical tolerances.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Strong proficiency in AutoCAD drafting, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and standard Microsoft Office applications.
· A valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record are mandatory.
· Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and a comprehensive 7-year criminal history background check.
· The flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally for training sessions or project team meetings.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
· Frequent sitting for extended periods while focused on detailed data processing and intensive CAD modeling work.
· Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds, such as physical project files, large-format plan sets, or plotting materials.
· Work is performed primarily indoors in a professional, collaborative office environment during standard business hours.
· Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are required for continuous computer work and operating precision drafting software.
